Ok, I have figured a cheap and easy way to get some 310cc or what ever size ford injectors you want to fit on the v-6 fuel rail. For the most part the injectors are about 85% the same. They are both high impedeance injectors or saturated some of us call them.So I figured I would drop 200 dollars on a set of 8 and hope that I could mod these things to work and it seems like they will. First thing I did was pull the pintle cap that come with the ford motor sport injector because ours do not have the pintle cap and that would make the injectors sit way high off the lower intake manifold. The ford ones are a tad bit shorter on the pintle end but nothing that would affect function. The spray pattern is not wide enough for it to be a problem to have the pintle sitting less than a 1/16 inch higher inside the intake. Next thing I noticed is on the top side of the injector it is way fatter and would not fit inside the fuel rail meaning that the oring would never seal.So I shaved the top section of the injector down to the size that the v-6 injector is.Now becareful not to over do it on the shaving and to do a neat and even job so you get a nice snug fit all the way down to the top stop meets the fuel rail.Once it is shaved both injectors resemble each other in physical size and lenght. Now the oring from the ford injector has got to go.It is way to big to fit in the fuel rail, but also it is double the thickness of our o rings. So what I did is double stack our o rings and it is a perfect fit.I test fitted the injectors and it fits just like the 185cc stockers do.Here are a few pics to show what I have done.

The 310 cc is on the right, the left is a 210cc but its the same as the 185cc that is in our v-6's

As you can see the plugs are identical

Top section is shaved here

This is what it looked like before I shaved it with double o-rings, as you can see the top shaft section is biggier than the rings so I shaved that.

Here it is shaved, now your thinking how do I know how far to shave it, there are little indentions around the shaft, you shave down to the next layer, most of the plugs are made almost the same, with the ford one they just added another 1/16 inch of plastic to it.

Here it is fitted and pressed in.They almost mirror each other now and the 310cc to the left (red) barely has a gap against the tap where the green one 210cc/185cc touches, not much difference.Soon I will left you all know how it performed on the sebring.
So now most of your questions are answered if these things will work or not.In the stock form.. no for sure, but with few modifications it looks like a reality. Now If you are going to run something this big on your fuel rail I would suggest a S-AFC to pull alot of fuel out so the car will idle. You will only need something like this if you are running high boost or more than a 100hp boost in nitrous.

Here they are...LIKE A GLOVE!!!!!

As you can see in the pic below I had to remove the spacers to make the injectors sit flush and snug. The pintle is skinner than the stock injectors so it is crucial that they are mounted form into the lower intake. What I did was torque them down till the top of the injector pressed flush into the rail. They are tight fits so they will not be flush till torqued down.It has also been brought to my attention that without the spacers the rail would get hot, but as you can see, it does not touch the intake so that is not a problem at all.
The car runs great.Right now the S-AFC is at a whopping -41%. I also did the fuel pump rewire mod while I was at it.Now I can honestly say that the fuel system is up to the task of handling some serious HP now. Make sure to check for leaks and do not over tighten and ruin the o rings on the intake. If you have any questions or anything I could add just e-mail me at robertburt3@hotmail.com
Update, I ran the car tonight 17 aug 2002, and even with a 47 jet (100hp) I still had the S-AFC at a -26% and it still ran rich and that was only at 50 psi on the rail. Before I could get it tweaked I used a whole ten pound bottle.Ill tell you these injectors will support more HP than this motor will ever handle. I ordered .55 and .63 jets tonight and will run up to a 150 HP shot next week. More to follow.........
