Whats the chance of this radio working??
« on: April 15, 2006, 03:42:38 PM »

The reason I ask is I saw a black Eclipse console AND an Eclipse cd/cassette radio at the salvage yard yesterday.

If the car has been sitting there, oh lets say 1 year; With an intact roof and an intact windshield, whats the chance of that radio being good.

If the cahnces are good I might get the set.

Any ideas?

Usually salvage yards pull the radios and keep them.  I'd find out why they didn't.  And you really won't know if the set is good until you try it.

Mod List.  Um WAY too many to fit on here.  But the engine can handle about 800HP

is the wiring harness different between the Eclipse and Avenger??  I never really noticed... but yeah if your Avenger has the infinity system and the eclipse doesn't or the other way around it might not work... not sure... hmmm...

You can order the factory plugs to make life easier from

www.installer.com  So you can put a stock Geo radio into your Porsche if you wanted to.   Roll Eyes

The only other option is to use my stock Cd/Cassette. I heard you needed to get brackets to make the radio fit in the eclipse console.

I heard they were $120 though. (that makes no sense) Any ideas?

I dont think brackets are that expensive...I bought brackets at wal-mart for 10 bucks...I'll take a pic of mine when I get a chance.
