2000 Seb tranny dipstick question
« on: April 14, 2006, 11:16:03 PM »

Can anyone check their transmission dipstick for me, and measure the distance from the tip to the middle of the 'hot' section, and from the tip to the middle of the 's' bend?

I changed my transmission fluid today. Prior to changing it, the fluid level was real high on the dipstick, way past 'hot' and close to the 's' bend. After changing it, the level is still the same. I dropped the pan, and added 7 quarts (as well as replacing the filter, etc)

I'm wondering if the dipstick isn't the right one for the car?

My measurements from the tip to the middle of the 'hot' section is about 1.5", and from the tip to the middle of the 's' bend is about 3.5"

i would trust the dipstick.   Wink
sounds like you may just have too much fluid.
