98 Bring I can pick up
« on: November 19, 2005, 05:55:17 AM »

I can nab a 98 Sebring LXi with 119k on it for $1700.  Is that a deal?  It's in very good shape and will have a sticker before I buy it if I choose to.  Only thing I see on exterior is that there is a few cracked slots in the grill and I guess the lower driving/fog lights dont work.  Also there was some hard rain and I noticed a very little bit of leakage near the moon roof, is that usually a real bad thing?  Anyway I just wanted to know if I should go for it.

I have a 95 Avenger i4 atm too.  I like it.  I would kinda like to add a bring to my collection.  Smiley

I think any car is worth it as long as you're willing to put the time in on it.  If the moonroof is leaking it's probably just a bad seal, pick up a new one and you're good to go.  If you know alot about cars and you think it's good go for it.  It's hard to say if 1700 is a deal without driving and looking at it, it could be crap.  But if you can fix it, get it.

My car is a '98 LXi, I bought it in March of '03 with exactly 90,000 on it. They were asking $7995, I ended up paying $6500, but everything worked, exterior had normal wear and tear i.e. chips, small scratches, door dings. I would say that it's a good deal. If you got the spare $$$ I would say worst case scenario buy it, fix it, sell it. you're bound to make good profit, I would say blue book on a car like that is probably close to $5000.
