Since i have had the car... i have had a new motor installed bored out .20 and since the new engine has been put in it doesnt want to start some of the time....Well when i had the new motor in i ran it for about a week or so and then it started to act up and only start sometimes....then the timing belt broke and i had to replace the head...fixed that and then i ran the car for a couple of days and it started to not start up again...i replaced the camshaft sensor....and took it to a garage and he checked everything out and said everything was good....he couldnt figure out what was wrong with it....since then i still had the same problem but one day took it out and it started to shut off while driving...sometimes it would start right up and the shut off and sometimes it would start up and shut off after a couple of miles....i was guessin its the crankshaft sensor....But would really like some help on this one....thanks
Not starting is too bland to diagnois. Do you have any CELs? If it's a sensor a CEL should come on. You have Fuel, Spark, Air, and sensors.
Fuel Fuel Pump isn't working properly Fuel Filter is clogged Fuel Rail is clogged Fuel Injectors are not working properly (clogged, cracked, non-responsive) ECU is bad
Spark ECU is bad Battery/alternator is weak Coilpack is bad Wires are junk Plugs are junk
Air ECU is bad Filter is clogged Throttle Body is dirty
Sensors Any of them can be the cause of it. Crankshaft Position Sensor, Camshaft sensor, Idle air control, MAP, and any other sending unit I didn't list.
The CKPS or Crankshaft sensor is easy to remove and replace. They're like 40-50 bucks depending on where you go. It's one bolt.
Jack up your car, roll under it near the firewall. On the passenger side of your exhaust you'll see a sensor pointing up, that is your crank shaft sensor. There is a little red piece that needs to be slid out of the way so you can press the button to remove the harness. One ten millimeter bolt, then twist and remove.

Mod List. Um WAY too many to fit on here. But the engine can handle about 800HP
Its getting fuel, its just not getting spark......I just dont understand how i can drive it forever and then shut it off and it doesnt want to start back up...until one day it just doesnt want to start at all....
Hmm sounds like a coil pack issue if you are not getting spark... That or if your timing belt skipped a tooth or something the computer would shut it all down so you don't bend valves and the like... I would start with the coil pack, it is the most likely culprite. No wait I take that back... I would check the ASD relay. It should be on the firewall right in front of the steering wheel in the engine compartment. There should be 2 relays there together. One is the fuel pump relay the other is the ASD if I remember right. I would check that out first.

Yes the relay is the cheapest thing to check out. Have you ever changed your plugs? It'd be wierd for it to not start sometimes if it was just plugs though. So I agree with Nykon. The coilpack is your next bet. I have one sitting at home that I will not need in about a week. So once I swap mine out and the new one on you can have the old one. For like 20 plus shipping.

I already tested the coilpack out i took it off and put it on another 420a and it started right up with no problem...I have all new plugs and wires on the car also, i changed them when the timing belt broke....Its definitly not the timing belt, im positively 100% sure its not it...I will check out he relay though....thanks
When you say it doesnt want to start do you mean...
A) it is turning over but wont catch B) wont turn over
if its not turning over at all, then check all the stupid things like your battery terminals and whatnot.
from reading though I am assuming it is turning over...
I know a year or so ago my car had a problem where it was starting hard and running poorly, while these are not the same symptoms you have I would think it could be the same part causing your issue. It turned out my ignition wiring harness was no good and needed to be replaced. So i recommend you check that out.
i had a problem similar in my 94 eclipse. you've probably already done this, but check if all your spark plugs are tight. i relplaced mine and when i was taking them out, i found out that one wasn't even in FINGER TIGHT! it was a wonder it ran so good on only 3 clyinders............
