I have a 6 pass auxillary cooler, and when its like 40 degrees or less it always seems to shift sluggishly, and i know its because the fluid doesnt even get to 100 degrees according to my temp sensor.... Will this hurt the tranny? I NEVER push it hard in the winter.... SHould i remove the auxillary cooler till winter is over?
I cant say Ive ever noticed a large difference in hot or cold shifts in a healthy transmission, running it cold wont hurt it, remember heat is your enemy however Im sure warmer thinnner oil moves a bit easier,, I would go ahead and put the new chrysler #4 oil and filter and flush and the #4 oil has a addative that may resoften your trany seals if they have lost their softness and help out...l Roger Reynolds
