aall non-stock cars illegal in cali? is lowering you car actually illegal? i understand enforcing smog laws and noise laws and that kind of thing, and i understand cracking down on street racing. but, its perfectly legal within the limits of the pollution laws to drive a race-worthy car on the road as long as you are not actually racing.
they basically tell their officers to pull over any car that is customized. which is total B.S. because you may not be doing anything illegal and get pulled over.

Wow! That's some major b.s. Glad I don't live in Cali. At first when they said they were looking out for those mods as an indicator of a possible street racer, I thought o.k. I can understand that but that doesn't mean they do street race. But after the cop pointed out that the intake breather filter is illegal I just shook my head. If I drove there now with only a muffler and cai I could get pulled over for suspicion of street racing based on how it looks or sounds even tho I haven't raced once! That's just harassment if you ask me.
WOW! I am glad in Oregon they don't really care as far as I know. This video proves one thing.

Can't i just as easily street race in my bone stock car? hmph... i can understand the hooked up nitrous but some of the things don't show "intent to street race", do they?

Same here I missed the video and I live in California!
Well I'll share a recent experience: I let my sister borrow my car a few mos ago, she got pulled over by a Sheriff Deputy in San Bernardino County because my car was displaying "out of state license plates" and a temporary permit issued by the California DMV, the deputy thought it was suspicious and pulled her over. Turned out my sister didn't have a valid driver's license and the deputy decided to impound my car for 30 days!
I asked the guy to let me keep the car and I would pay the full citation but he wouldn't, and he said: “I could get you for more if I wanted to, because you don't have a front license plate, and you have a modified muffler!” I got pretty upset and told him "ah now you're just being a jerk, what does my muffler has to do with this, have you measured the decibels or how can you decide whether my muffler is illegal or not? and he said to me "I don't have to measure it I know it!"
I hate cops that are just the guys that never had any friends in school and this is how they make up for it. The idea that cops are asses come from guys like that.
