My TSX will only hit 136 mph due to the governor. I went 120 in it....that was enough for me

I had a tranny rebuild done about 8 months ago...everything was done - all sensors, clutch pack, upgraded solenoid pack, new pin etc...It worked and shifted like butter for a while (until now).  I am now getting the bump shift, and the limp mode is happening all over again.  I suspected then that the wrong fluid was put in (they tried to convince me it was) Apparently, someone at Chrysler even told them Dexron III "should be ok"...ANYWAY, should I just do a fluid flush, or should I flush fluid, replace filter & gasket, etc...or could it be something else?? Thanks so much guys, I appreciate the help and advice....take care

Sounds like whoever filled the tranny with Dexron III owes you any work that's due.

I know, and this is a "friend of ours" so I can imagine he will do it free of charge.  I may just go down there with my own fluid!!!!!

I went back to see why the "bump shift" and limp mode were still happening...Anyone ever heard of the "HYDRAULIC MODULATOR" as being the problem?  The part is around $200...I just wanted to check if this was a common cause (besides incorrect fluid, and the rest).  Thanks so much

  I have a '98 Venge v6,  Automatic,  85K miles.

Since I have exhaust put on , I am able to 'hear'  What's going on with how my car shifts.
From time to time when it shifts(I've noticed from 3rd to 4th)  It kinda jerks a lil bit, the engine Revs a little high,
then you feel it shift in to 4th.

I know what you are talking about, and it is normal. At least for every other venge ive driven. When accerating slowly enough to like 65mph, the car will go 2nd, 3rd, then 3rd with torque converter lockup, then the TC will disengage from lockup right before entering 4th gear, to give you a little gearing boost when coming upon 60mph. That 'revving' you hear before 4th is just the TC disengaging from lockup. It is very prevailent on cars with exhaust because you can hear everything.

And as for whomever said avengers are not slow because they can do 130+, thats no the point. Its how fast you achieve 130mph is what makes a car fast or slow.
