I found a way to test the distributor and coil in my Hayne's manual, so I pulled the distributor out and tested it and it passed, so... I ordered a crank position sensor, so I guess i'll try that and see what happens. If thats not it then I'm stumped.
No luck with the CPS. One of my friends dads is a mechanic and he says that he had a sebring in a while back that was doing the same thing and it was the distributor, so I don't know, i may try one before it's over with.
My best friend who works with me at Advance Auto told me that a lady came in the other day with a '98 Bring and she had expierienced the same thing and had ended up haveing to replace the computer. So I just don't know. I've got a buddy who's a mechanic and he's got a really good scanner that actually diagnoses instead of just code scanning, so I'm gonna get him to scan it for me and we'll see what happens.
I ended up ordering a distributor from work to see if it would fix it, and if it didn't i would take it back. Put it in and it cranked right up so I'm happy now, thanx for all your help.
I retract my last post. I went to leave work and the thing wouldn't start again, so I called my dad to come get me. When he got there he tapped on some relays and it fired right up. So i drove it immediatley home and began unplugging the relays one at a time and trying to crank it until I eliminated all but one. So I replaced it, and so far so good. But right now that doesn't mean much. If this fixes it I'm gonna be a little irritated, I just spent $260 to replace a $10 relay. But I guess I have to look on the bright side; My car does have a new distributor and crank position sensor now.
