hey guys i hav a qustion,, im geting amaysingly horrable gas milage onm y car, 50L of gas i get only 300kms :s i tried using the fuel system cleaners but that didnt work, the car is in fairly good shape, it has a KnN stock filter replacement n i duno how 2 open the air filter, i can open the top 2 hatches but the bottom 2 are sord of out of reach, ne tips? oh and im trying to open it to clean out the filter itself, i opend the 2 top hatches n rubed it wit my finger n dirt came out so im sure its gona b cleand, neways ne tohughts on the bad feul economy, i drive it under 3 thousand rpm 90% of the time
Do you know when your last tune-up was? That could make a difference if it has been a while (or not at all).
As for the air box, the bottom 2 clips can be tough. They are on the bottom of the air box. Just locate the top 2 clips, and run your hand down the side of the box. You should feel the clips. Press down to open. Its sometimes easier to use a phillips head screwdriver to remove the intake tube from the air box. All you have to do is loosen the hose clamp and slide the hose out. If needed, loosen the hose clamp at the throttle body as well (the other end of the hose).

Where are you located? (I would assume in Canada somewhere due to the use of KMS?) Depending on where you live you can always see if there is a member in your area to give you a hand. A tune up would also be on my thoughts as to something to check out. Good luck.
fuel injectors just replaced 2 of mine and I've used cleaners also but it turned out I was just wasting money because they were so bad they couldnt be saved. No more lean code and gas mileage back to normal
Im located in Ottawa Canada, thanks for the help with the intake i was able to open the box n i found a VERY dirty KnN replacement filter, i bought the kit n cleaned it right up, i havnt diven it since but i rved it a couple of times n it sounds better, as for the O2 sensors and fuel injectors, i think i will get those check soon. Tune up, i think i should get that done also. When i got it i replaced the oil but i used half synthetic half regular oil, the garage guy didnt have full synthetic, i checked the oil aftr 1000kms n its already blackening,, a lil 2 fast :s, n i checkd my coolant level, it seems like the coolant leaks whenever it wants to :s it had stoped earlier but now its back to doing it lol. Again thanks a million guys, u've been gr8 help, i hadn't been able to find a good forum that wasnt dead that delt with these kind of cars
There are some members that wouldn't be too far from you. Wolvie is out there and Alain is in Montreal (I think?). We also have meets about 45 mins west of Toronto and sometimes closer. Alain should be coming out for a meet in the spring so you can always see if you can follow him down. Hope things get all worked out!
sounds very kool, if univercity doesnt get in the way i would love 2 come down 2 the meets, oh n i tihnk might hav fixd da fuel problem, aftr cleaning the air filter, i hav already reached the 300km mark n i still have a quarter or a tank left
