Castrol Durablend 5w30 and NAPA Gold filter.

On the new motor, will break it in with regular Castrol 5w30 and then transition to Royal Purple 5w30

that is what I have always used and my 213,000 mile bearings look like they have 50,000 on them.  Good enough for me.

why are you not completely satisfied with the NAPA Gold?

walmart brand synthetic and a crappy fram filter..

with 250K km (155K mi) on my car.. it really doesn't need or deserve anything special..

i run the oil to 10K km (7k mi) intervals, change the filter every 5K km. (3500mi).

it seems to take longer for the engine to come up to pressure on startup (longer for the idiot light to turn off), than with the fram, so that probably means its filtering better, it just makes me think its also restricing flow.

the guy is collecting oil filters and cutting them open and comparing

so far it looks like Wix, Champion, Purolator, and Fram are the only real filters, everythng else is a repaint or slight remake

mobil 1 filter for example is a Champion filter with a cartrige made of synthetic fibers

mopar filters are all differnt kids of filters, even on the same filter model some are champion, some are wix, some are "radioactive orange" frams

yeah, but that was a year ago, unless im asking a technical question, i don't look that far back for an existing thread.

and a update, i just put in mobil clean 5000 and a mobil 1 filter. it seems to be running good so far. my idle has been rough lately, and it seems to have smoothed it out after about 150 miles.
