may have been something stuck in your undercarrage that was rubbing when you turned the wheels, that happened to me once on my nova, thought i had a u-joint going out, cause i heard a *thunk**thunk**thunk* from under the car, it turned out to be a piece of an ice scraper that had wedged itself into the u-joint
