Anyone ever put like a led strip or something in the the tail lights i tinted my tail lights and used the led bulbs but i didnt like it wasnt bright enough for me.
Has anyone ever made a LED thrid brake light.
Just trying to get some ideas i wanna do a project and make led tails and a 3rd brake light.

Are you going to be soldering the LED's yourself or using what's commerically available as a premade unit [LED, resistor, wire already attached]?

Probably the premade ones. Im not total for sure. Trying to get some info and see whats been done.

This might help you. http://www.theledlight.com/ledcircuits.htmlBtw, you'll need to learn about 'mcd' rating also. Don't be afraid of soldering and such. Putting them together yourself might come out better. The highest ones i found at Radioshack were 11k mcd. Highest ones i found online were 25k mcd and noticeably brighter also [which means they ARE 25k].

Holy crap that is awesome. I wonder how he did it.
My dad gets home next week. Hes good with all the wiring stuff. And im actually gunna try to get something made.

he has posted in many different forums how he did that. you really must know something about electronics to try and do somthing like that, its not easy and will take alot of time. custom cuirt boards and circuity to make it do the affects once i finish my current avenger electronics project ill probably end up moving on to something similar to that.

Nothing a PIC microcontroller and a bunch of SPI LED driver ICs won't solve. Or a jpg of your car and a few hours in Adobe Flash...  I do like that his dashboard was lit in white and not orange. Personally I'd take that over glow gauges, but to each their own.
