Yeah their going to be for winter only. I have my other ones for summer. I just want a good tire with traction. I will never put Yoko Avid V4S back on it. Those are the ones on the stock rims right now.

Okay, assuming you have a 99 Avenger ES with 17s, tirerack.com lists 215/50R17 TripleTreds at $137 per tire (the 205/50R17 isn't available in that brand), while a proper winter tire like the Bridgestone Blizzak WS-60 215/50R17 lists at $137 with the Bridgestone Blizzak LM-25 205/50R17 only $130. So why would you want to go with the no-season tire???

They are mainly going to be for winter. Their could be that case that I might need them during a diffrent season (if something happen to my others). Most of the shop in town said they have had good luck and they have good ratings so I think I'm going to go with these.Â

That's fair. I've always been happy with the Michelin HydroEdge tires and just kept them on all season, I had them on for the last eight or nine winters (well, the first few were Michelin X1's) and have never had to be pushed out of anything. Now that I got those 17" rims off of Ivan I'll be throwing dedicated snows (probably Blizzaks) onto the 14's this year. It'll be interesting to see what the difference is like having real snows on the the car this time around.

Yeah got them ordered today. Should save about $110 bucks (compared to getting them in town) with shipping and mounting/balancing them to the stock rims.

I have michelin x-ice on my factory rims for winter. They are one of the best winter rated tires in Canada, that should say enough for the weather up here.

Speaking of snows on the factory rims, does anyone know if you can still use the 14" steel rims if you upgrade to GSx brakes? I was thinking of doing my brakes next spring if the car doesn't throw me any expensive surprises over the winter, but it would suck to put snow tires on my 14's now that I couldn't use for the following winter after I've done the brakes...
