for drag a neon 3 speed atx with a reverse manual valve body would be the best lots of mods available

stock tranny if you could grab the a604 from the high hp ouput pt cruiser turbo it's good for many many hp, you will need the flywheel, the larger tc and the starter if you want the whole setup
that's my setup in the avenger

a built a604 could stand a lot, or not ... we heard horror stories over the years

some mods could make you faster
road rage transfer gears or the less efficient stratus ones
disabling the tc lockup too

He's been through many 3spds, they tend to break with 26x10" slicks

Hoping the 4spd will hold up better since the ring/pinion/case are beefier

The 604  can be a great trans for drag raceing, However it has to be rebuilt  by not just
a rebuilder  but a rebuilder who solves proublems,,, You also have to have the correct
gearing meaning you need to add the quick change gears, very important... I have several
604 out their drag raceing...Let me know if I can be of help,, As I added in my first reply
i am considering Doing a rebuild video and supplying parts for do it yourself guys for raceing
or stock rebuilds... I need to hear some feed back If I was to persue this... Most guys
can afford parts but cannot afford the labor .. Roger Reynolds,, Hannibal Transmission and
roadrage quick change gears.... rreynold@nemonet.com
