Mod List.  Um WAY too many to fit on here.  But the engine can handle about 800HP

Excess fuel smell would make me think:

Leaking Injector
Timing off (Should throw a CEL)
Bad Spark (Maybe throw a CEL)
Bad O2
Bad Computer
EGR issue (Doesn't explain gas smell though)

How many O2's does that thing have?

Time to go through the tedious rundown of testing.

it's either a 239, 318, or 360. And yes, the distributor on a 239 IS a pita.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

ok, after work i tried to start it and it wouldnt idle and stalled out. i popd the hood and act like i knew what i was doing and pushed on the cap wires. i got back in the truck and turned the ignition on and put the gas peddle to the floor. i then turned the key and started it. it seemed to act normally...it raced a little bit then idled around 700rpms. i took a drive and all seem fine...it start up fine too... wtf?

It started fine today too.

ahhh, you got Duracrap. gotcha. Duracrap is a issue by the way. especially if you got suckered into buying the Valucraft brand. i've seen a button shatter the cap on an L6 Cherokee.
