Interior Lighting
« on: August 15, 2008, 12:14:58 AM »

I'm interested in possibly changing the color of the interior dashboard lights (such as the small lights on the buttons, ect. on the center dashboard) from the original orange color to something like blue.

I have no idea however if this even possible. I'm pretty sure (could be wrong) that the orange color just comes from the covers on the buttons, and not from the actual light itself, right?

If so, then i guess my question is; Would there be a moderately easy way to customize the color of these interior lights, preferably without doing much, if any, electrical? I havent found anything out there that you can actually buy and install that changes this for you, so what type of things could i do to modify it myself?

I know that this may never work, but any info that you could pass along would be greatly appriciated  Grin  Thanks!

the gauges are the hardest you have to sand the back of the gauges as the orange  is "built in"
you can get ready made Led replacements then
, eventually you can end up like this :

yes you have to remove the switches disassemble and replace with led's and resistors (or colored bulbs)

you have to remove the stock gauges and sand the backs of them (not just buy new ones) the new ones you buy go over the stock ones so they will still be orange'
also I have import intelligence intelliglo needles (blue)

It's an amber/yellow from the factory. However, depending on how bright the bulb is that you use....
