Purchasing a non-name brand eBay header is like getting a cheap cute hooker.  It may seem like a sweet deal now, but you'll be paying for it later.  And probably not that much later.  Anyone have that special shampoo?

its a tough desicion, but i think if you can find one that is brand named for 10+20 more bucks, you should go with that.

That's the problem. All the known good quality ones [name brands] are about $100 more.
See, the one i have on there has been on there since before i got the car. yes it broke at the 4-1 spot, but my FIL was able to weld it back together and it's held since. I'm not sure if it's the problem i'm having with my car now, but... i'm not ruling it out.

The DOHC 420A's can't handle Lucas. It's too thick for the oil passages [as Nykon pointed out to me]. A few days after putting some in, my engine started exhibiting 'Performance Impedance'. I give it throttle, it says 'huh?' and chokes down. So, after talking with Nykon on it, i changed the oil and filter before i changed my radiator [it was broke, 2 birds one stone] and after i was done with both the oil and radiator, Major difference.
Lesson learned: Don't use an oil stabilizer on the 420A's.
However, there's still some.... impedance.. and i'm not sure if it could be in the exhaust or in the oil needing another change because there is still stabilizer that didn't exit the system when i changed it.

Pluses:
  • No water in the oil
  • Plugs and wires look fine
  • I have a new fuel filter in the box that I might put on

Minuses:
  • Don't have time to put the filter on plus I need another 3/4 wrench
  • Plugs and wires look fine

I do however hear a higher pitched metallic hollow vibration when i'm at 2200rpm while shifting through the gears. but it takes me about 5 more seconds now to reach 70. and it might even be more than 5 seconds. i just know that my car is even SLOWER now. Now, I don't know if that's just the pipes chattering from vibrating against the chassis or if that's a bad leak starting.

i didnt really understood all what you said shiano because im still not as experienced as you are..
but i didnt know it was 100 dollar difference, which is alot.
so if you ask me, i say buy it, its only about 65 dollars or so, and it looks actually decent{with the flat black look}.
and here what i offer you, buy it, put it, use it, if it works well for a while, the great! if it breaks down or gives you problems later down the road, i wil personally send you half of the money for it. but i dont have money right now, I will have it in the near future, and when i will, i will send it to you! and thats my word!
im just a little broke now, but hopefully things will change...
and besides,  i made a connection with you since i been here{no homo}, so i look at you as a good friend of mine : )
dont start with the JBI/DT jokes now.... LoL

If it's a header issue.... i'm half tempted to convert it back to stock almost. of course, i'm half tempted to mix a gallon of gasoline with 10 lbs of styrofoam also...

A GS looks better and better each day. lol

And Dodge, you've changed for the better from your initial start here at asog. keep it up.  Wink

Gasoline + Styrofoam = Homemade Napalm

Styrofoam is what most of your larger electronics [tv's, computers, monitors] are packed in to keep it from being damaged in shipping. The white stuff that makes a loud pop when you crack it and goes flying everywhere in little pieces.
