What are your compression numbers?
« on: August 12, 2008, 03:11:09 PM »

Just wondering what everybody else is getting for your 420A engine. This is a standard dry compression test.

After a head gasket change I am at 160 PSI on all 4 cylinders.

This is on an 100K mile engine from a 95 Avenger.

What are your numbers?

well, you're supposed to have 170-255.
After i have the fuel filter replaced on mine, i'm seriously thinking about having the compression checked. Somethings just not right with it.

well as you add milage thing wear like your piston rings which will lower your compression if you got really low like 120 on a cyl then you got a prob. i say 160 at 100k has been pretty well taken care of engine

The rings, pistons and head are supposed to be less than 15k miles old. The car practically had a new head job when i got it.
