« on: August 03, 2008, 05:01:56 PM »

Ok so i wired up my Alpine Imprint CDA-9887....What can i wire my yellow battery wire to so ill get constant
power with out routing a wire all the way to the battery.Right now its connected to the ignition wire, which
means every time i start my whip everything i have saved is erased.Anyhelp would be great....i dont have
a power tester otherwise id just use that, but i figured we all have the same cars someone should have
an idea.

On a side note...anyone else on here have this deck?I have some other questions that pertain to this particular
setup.Thanks guys!!!

The 95 wiring diagrams show two 7-pin connectors into the factory decks:

The black connector (B48) has pins numbered 1-7:

1 - Unknown, White with black marking (runs to factory amp, probably radio on indication)
2 - Rear Left+, Yellow with blue marking
3 - Rear Right+, Yellow with red marking
4 - Front Left-, White with blue marking
5 - Front Right-, White with red marking
6 - Rear Left-, Grey with blue marking
7 - Rear Right-, Grey with red marking

The grey connector (B49) has pins numbered 11-17 (wtf???):

11 -
12 - Front Left+, Black with blue marking
13 - Front Right+, Black with red marking
14 -
15 - Taillight relay, Green with white marking
16 - Accessory power (fuse 11), Blue
17 - Fixed power (fuse 10), Red

Wow, that's a pretty impressive unit.  Has your dealer hooked it up to a PC to tune the MultiEQ to your vehicle yet?

^^^Negative....and it sucks.I didnt realize that i would need another 200 dollar part in order to use the EQ until after the fact. This unit is sooooo complex, definately not what im used to.Ive tried everything to figure out the Parametric EQ....but i fail lol.Dont understand it at all.So i guess im going to break down and buy a 30 dollar EQ off e-bay.As of right now my titanium tweets are so loud its unbearable.

As for dealer tuning the deck whats that all about?Where would i have to go to do it?

Thanks for the wiring above....but i broke down and just ran a damn wire to my battery.....i was too impatient i guess lol. Thanks though.

According to the review at alpine-usa.com, using just the controls on the head unit you have access to either a 5-band parametric EQ or a 7-band graphic.  Graphic equalizers are what most people are familiar with, so try switching to that mode and seeing if you have better luck.

Parametrics give more control if you're tuning around specific response limitations of your system but are tougher to figure out for just general 'mucking about' with the sound of your music.  My CDA-9831 has a parametric and I've never gotten it to work right...  I suppose if I actually took the manual out to the car to walk through it, but that's just too much like work.   Grin
