I know both are fast cars, but i never driven an SRT-4.
I did drive a 2001 Golt GTI{1.8 turbo}, and i let me tell you that that car is fast!
Dont know about an SRT-4 but i know its fast too, just dont know how fast or how good.

bone stock 1.8T is around 150hp but things like chiped ECU and turbo upgrade (FMIC for example) can really gain major horse power. oh and it is either, Golf OR GTi... cant be both  (golf = 5 door; gti = 3 door) try vr6 next time, umm go for 2002+ year. they got about 200hp.... mine got only 170hp  |

bone stock 1.8T is around 150hp but things like chiped ECU and turbo upgrade (FMIC for example) can really gain major horse power.
the srt-4 can go to 300 hp just by buying the "stages" at the dealership and 2004 and + have a quaife lsd SRT-4 has either 205 or 215 HP and the GTI only has 150 they were advertised with more than that and on the dyno they were doing at the wheels what Dodge was saying they would do at the crank Alain |

hmm, that is wierd because the Golf that I used to drive had alot more than 150hp. |

I wonder why they stopped making them... probably not enough sales.. not at all the srt-4 was a hot selling machine it's simply because the whole neon familly went out of production and were replaced by the dodge caliber in 2007 and there is a dodge caliber srt-4 with a new 2.4L turbo engine and doing 285 hp / 260 lb torque Alain |

SRT-4s are amazing cars. With a good driver and good launch they can get into high 13s all stock.
