98' Avenger Remote 'Unlock' Button.
« on: October 25, 2008, 03:27:31 AM »

I have a 98' Avenger and the remote "unlock" button is a hassle to get to open. I have to push it all the way down and at an angle to get it to unlock the doors. I dont mind having to walk over to the car and unlock the door but I wanted to know if there was anywhere or any way I could fix the remote.

you should probably pull the remote apart and do a visual.

yeah, you can take it apart and should be able to remove the rubber buttons and put them back. Sometimes, the buttons can get a little dirty if you have a habit of storing your keys in dirty areas or if someone generously gave your keychain some coke or pepsi. Try using something [that has a non sharp point] to gently push the button down once you have the case open. if you don't have any problems locking and unlocking the car, it's the buttons/top part of the case needing to be cleaned. If you still have problems with the response, definitely replace the battery.
