I don't know if any of you can recall, but I was having starting issues because of too much residual fuel pressure. My car is a 95, but the engine was changed to a 96 by the last owner. He kept the 95 fuel delivery system, but used the 96 fuel rail. So now the problem is that I have no return line(he capped the return line off), and I don't know if he used the 96 fpr at all. On the intake manifold where there is a fitting with three vacuum lines, the one for the stock 95 fpr has been capped off(I know which vacuum line is which thanks to the diagram under the hood). So here are my question(I searched for answers before posting this don't worry, I just did not find any definite answers.) 1. Where was the fpr located on the 95 venge? 2. Where is the fpr located on the 96+? 3. Is there a way that I could make the 96 rail function with the return line, without changing the rail? 4. Could an engine run properly(sort of) without an fpr? 5. Could a lack of fpr cause my high gas consumption?

Sounds like your running with no FPR.. the 96 fpr is back by the tank, the 95 fpr is on the fuel rail, which gets it's vacuum signal from the T that's capped.
so..
1. on the rail 2. near the tank 3. no.. get a 95 rail or aftermarket rail that has fpr and return. 4. no.. it will be WAY to rich.. forget the stock pressure (43 comes to mind) but the stock fuelpump will deadhead the rail at 75psi or so.. close to 80% more fuel flow than the computer expects, the LTFT's on the computer won't be able to compensate for that much of a difference. 5. oh hell ya.

yes you can make the 96 rail work with the 95 system just take the cap off which should be factory, and put the return line from your car in its place it should have the regulator attached mine was i did the same swap about 3 months ago. unless you got rid of your fpr which would suck. and admin pretty much nailed everything else.

Sounds like he has no FPR.. so.. that wouldn't work.

Well I just tested the pressure. 71 psi at idle I bought the fuel rail from ebay, we'll see how things work afterwords. Should I expect a differences afterwords ex: mpg, performance, emissions. My motor was pulling pretty strong the way it is now high 15s with a light driver and gutted(for cleaning reasons) interior.
