New here, looking for some info on parts..
« on: June 08, 2008, 11:54:15 PM »

Hi, im new to the site.

My name is Ryan, im from Windsor, Ontario, Canada, 21 years old, just picked up a 1995 Avenger ES v6 with 120 000 kilometers lady driven.

I am looking to get some parts, bu tdont really know where to start, performance and appearence.

Here is a list:

-CAI [ no short ram crap]
-any bolt on mods there is
-Some kind of tastefull aftermarket hood
-Interior insert kit, CF maybe?
-anything else  that you guys know about that i dont let me know..

Also, i would like to see some pics of this VIPER body kit i am hearing about if possible. saw a few low grade pictures, but i would like to see some nice ones before buying.

Any information or tips would be great also,  thanks alot..

-Ryan

a nice tasteful hood that i've been looking at http://www.stingerfiberglass.com/products/dodge-sebring/index.shtml

also, get new door handles, or at least be prepared to at any moment drop the cash for new door handles, because unless they've been replaced previously they WILL FALL OFF IN YOUR HANDS. all the DSMs have problems with this.

here are some avenger body kits http://www.body-kitz.com/index1.html?target=d46.html

there are a few more around, but thats all i have bookmarked Tongue

EDIT: dang you JBI you beat me to http://disturbingmotorsports.com/

With the lady driven thing, you are right if it is lets say a standard trans vehicle...

But in this situation, It was owned  only by a lady  that used it to run errands with her children and drive them to school and stuff, then her daughter drove it for a bit who is scared to go fast and drove it like an old lady.

I am the third owner [technically second]. I know what your saying though.

Anyways,

Yeah with the hood, Ive pretty much decided to go with the  CF Viper hood, and im also buying the body kit. [I decide quick i know]

Do you know if the CF viper hood is bolt on, or pin on? I hate pin on

I already have Rims for now, so now its on to deciding performance mods.

Is there any Strut tower bars available?

cf hood, sounds good, I believe it is a bolt on and not a pin on. I have an underdrive pulley with the belts for it. If no one gets them i will put them on my avenger. so let me know if you want it. get one of the v6 catback offered on dms (that I directed you to earlier) upgrade to a 3.0 v6 when necessary, if you have  a lot of money, the 5 spd 3.0 turbo swap may be looking your way, as soon as I get my hands on this job and some cash, I'll be talking to sroufe7 aka scott. he'll hook you up. great guy.

Yeah i was looking at the cat back.

The thing is, i like how my exhaust sounds as is, BUT...

I would like  to squeeze a bit more power. How does this system sound, is there any video or sound clips floating around?

I'm sorry to tell you that you have the wrong car to see good powergains or power at all from factory. Maybe a 3.0L with headers, intake, exhaust is your only bet but the car will still be slower then the average sports car now days.

but, so I don't bust your bubble too much... My mods list will show you the most accessible things for our cars. You can also check them out on my cardomain.

I got my kit from Extremedimensions.com and now have to burn more money into it...

sorry for the rudeness, bad day today.. my sentra is probly gunna blow up anytime now.  Angry

Ummm, wow....

That was the most useless post ive ever seen bro, I know the car isint fast, but there is alot  worse i could be driving lol..

Did i say ANYWHERE that im looking to make this a race car? No

I just said i wouldn't mind trying to squeeze a BIT more power from it, without even trying to for that matter.

I drive a Black fully loaded 2008 Sebring Hardtop Convertible, this is a car to keep miles of that car and have some fun in, not like the Sebring where i just want to lay the top down and drive 20kms...

Im  turning 21 june 30th BTW.. k thx

I am very knowledgeable when it comes to motor vehicles, im trying to see what is available for this specific model so i can make it my own..

No need to be a dick bro, just looking for some input for my car is all

I dont care for rice'ing out car's, i prefer  a clean look, and having something different that you dont see.

I have an 02 intrepid sxt sitting in my driveway, in the works is a Rwd/Hemi conversion...

I think  the Avenger would look pretty clean with the viper kit and CF Viper hood, some nice 18" Black chrome Wheels and Gunmetal Paint applied to the body Minus the CF Hood Maybe.

Then after that we will see how far i take this, might just get a few minor mod's, or go crazy, i havent decided yet, we will see after the appearance package is completed.

Thank you to all who help,

-Ryan

Check my Cardomain. It has almost all the V6 stuff minus built stuff like the auto tranny, engine, turbo, 5-speed etc... These cars can make a decent amount of power. Just need time, money, and patience... Grin

The best bang for performance is pry the downpipe that we carry.

The MSD Ignition kit helps a little with power, acceleration and fuel mileage.

It is hard to say "welcome to the forums" after reading this whole post, being rude does not help you out.  Gr8wite is a great guy and he gave his 2cents on your post and apologized for SOUNDING rude.

now i am NOT TRYING TO SOUND RUDE, but if you say  "I am very knowledgeable when it comes to motor vehicles, im trying to see what is available for this specific model so i can make it my own...", you should know that research around internet would give you all answers.  What you did just came up with all crap you want to stuff on your car and make us do the job for you AND at the same time diss some well respected members.  Not "cool" as you would say Ryan.  Roll Eyes

Also, to be more specific to the topic, I have a KYB AGX adjustable shock/struts and Eichbac lowering springs (got from Nykon, member on here) and they work great on my car.  Drop is about 1.5"-2" I would say, should work out good for you since you going body kit and 18" rims.
