Im on a little break cause my flight has done well. Basic isnt so bad I'm actually having some fun. Sadly my MTI is an ex Marine and hes CRAZY(but hes a really good instructor). I have found out texas no matter how hard I try does not respond to being pushed. Other than that its hot as hell here and I go to Warrior Week tomorrow. That will be fun, but also hotter than hell since for at least one day we have to be donned in full Chemical gear and a gas mask all day...in the sun...in texas...then its gas chamber time... not really looking forward to that day, the rest will be fun though.
Good to hear you are still kicking! It's been in the mid 60's last few day here in Ontario. I'll send some cooler thoughts your way...lol. Hope you still enjoy it all! Thanks for the update
btw, I have central heating and air. My thermostat stays on 70, the cool side of 70. lol. hang in there though, and be sure to completely seal your suit like it's supposed to be...
Gas isn't too bad. Just try not to look like to much of a baby when the mucus is flying down your face and your teary eyes are blurring your vision.
Lemon juice is the answer to all your burning questions. If you can get a hold of some (not lemon pledge!) Go buy a bottle that looks like a lemon and spill some on a washcloth. Then wipe your face. The chemical reaction takes away all the damaging properties of both CS and OC which is what I'm assuming you'll be getting hit with.

yeah, dunno about the lemon juice, as long as you avoid getting it directly in your eye it can't hurt.
just do what your drill instructors tell you, generally they won't do anything to make it worse.
Thanks for all the replies...basic is totally done now, now im in tech school. Its about 4 million times better than basic was. The gas chamber was easy, yeah it sucked but it wasnt that bad. the M16 was kick ass, but i missed marksman by about 4 shots. sucks, but the weapon jammed and once i cleared it i only had a few seconds to finish up, so i didnt aim as much as I shoulda.
Texas is about as hot as the sun, especially in ABUs so yeah that sucks....a lot. other than that not much is new since well ive been in hell....sold the bring, its long gone. next is a honda CBR600RR then any of 5 cars once I get a duty station. I could end up in Japan or England too for bases we'll see though. Thats it for now though.
