Fiberglass Dash
« on: May 12, 2008, 08:12:31 PM »

Has anyone here tried to cover the dash, trim and doors in fiberglass? I want to try to make the dash and doors smoother and flush, and the center console more like an eclipse one. The way I would do it is by
1. Sanding the parts rough
2. Stapling/gluing fleece to the dash
3. Coat it with epoxy.
4. Repeat as needed
5. Add light layers of mat and soak in resin
6. Smooth/fix with body filler
7. Prime and paint

Any tips,  ideas, concerns?

You'll totally want to check out this thread from the A/V forum.  Most of it's about the trunk but there are a few pictures of the work they did on the center console insert as well.
