I'm planning another trip to Union Grove this Saturday (Import Wars) come out if you can.  I have the hesitation tuned out of the carburater and I have a set of drag radials (255/50R16 BFGoodrich) tires mounted on a set of 300zx rims I refurbished.  I got the rims from a friend for free, paid $80 to have the centers machined out about a 1/32 of an inch larger, sandblasted and painted them. The fronts are 16x7.5 and the back ar 16x8.5.

Last post for Phase III.  Not sure yet what Phase IV will be, probably just miscellaneous. I'm not quite ready for body work so that phase will have to wait.

Raced the Avenger a couple times late in the season at Byron Dragway.  The first time I raced it back in September I red lighted (left too soon) and was out in the first round. I couldn't wait for the next Street car event to give it another try. Now I am addicted to racing!

I had much better luck the next time which was the last race (Race #9) of year.  I won the first two rounds, and then once again went out on a red light.  Here is a video of the 5 passes I made that day (Oct 12th). http://overlandconcepts.com/byron2008_Race9.wmv (25MB).  My last pass was a 12.93 second run!  The big change for next year will be a higher stall converter, somewhere around 3500.  That should greatly improve my 60 foot time and get me down around 12.75.  The fastest I can go in the Street class is 12.5 so a 12.75 will be plenty fast and I can start thinking about improving the looks.

Speaking of looks I bought a hood scoop for a 04 mustang and it is a perfect fit.  Follows the angle of the humps on the hood and is just tall enough to cover the air cleaner.  It's not real easy to see in the video so I'll try to get some pictures posted.

Next season I'll have to get your planned racing list and compare it to my rotating days off.  I'd like to get down there and catch the action.

Too bad the few V6 S/C'd Sebrings have never ran the 1/4 mile...  Wink

ok, "fastest avenger i've ever seen" better? perhaps i should do more research before i try to show my appreciation for the kick-ass job this guy did. Roll Eyes

i agree that a factory V8 RWD would have been sweet, thats my plans for my avenger if the engine/tranny go to hell. (which is unavoidable)

though im thinking more along the lines of HEMI independant rear suspension powertrain from charger's platform(LX), it would obviously need shortened a bit(and probably narrowed too, but i could always go for the ever-so-ricer looking widebody look)
