New car (kinda)
« on: May 08, 2008, 06:41:53 PM »

I just picked up this little car for FREE. I got it for free because it has a blown headgasket.

92 dodge shadow 2.5 tbi with sunroof 135k miles with a rebuilt auto trans

they were right about it being blown, coolant would pour out of the radiator. It starts and runs damn good though.

Mod List.  Um WAY too many to fit on here.  But the engine can handle about 800HP

leave the rust it makes it lighter, better gas mileage.

you should see my daily driver...

95 neon will 170,000 miles on it... cost me $100, rusted badly, no shocks, radio doesnt work, but it gets about 33mpg:)

it woulda been a real good steal if it came with the 3.0!!! Cool Its a dodge shadow right? Didnt those come with the 6g72? If you sell it, you can make about 800 bucks off that thing, and then buys youself a 3.0 haha Cheesy. good find. ive been looking for a car to fix for about two weeks now, havent found any yet...

300...it can drive, but not inspected...i also took some stuff off, I can take some pretty detailed pictures..and it gets better mileage than my avenger..go figure Roll Eyes its got headers on, ya just need to finish up the back end of the exhaust, you can have one of the flowmasters that comes with it, and umm...yeah...i recarpeted the interior, but it has a lot of stuff that you could sell individually if you want it.. it has the underdrive pulley also, and that's it.

some came with a a "kind of" 6g72 but it was a older versionfrom the 80's and fitted with a 12 valves sohc head , half american half japanese the worst of both worlds

btw a a port job on the head and shaving it to bump the compression , a hotter camshaft and a larger tb injector and you could see 130 hp

even better just pickup a 2.5 turbo engine with computer and wirrring harness and drop it in , add an intercooler, and read the late Gus Mahon webpages and you could have really serious fun !

Actually alain those old 6g72 can make some monsterous power. Theres a guy on turbododge.com with a 6g72 completely built with a t67 turbo, with bfg drag radials he spins all the way through 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. I will fix this car up a little, i will be done with the headgasket tommorow. After i drive and save im gonna try and get either a omni, daytona, or csx turbo 1 or turbo 2. Not worth it to try getting a turbo motor and dropping it in.
