car alarm and starter
« on: May 28, 2008, 04:06:46 AM »

I just got a Viper 5900 Alarm and car starter installed a couple of days ago.  I have my front window has a tint visor strip on it.  They installed the antenna behind my mirror and on  the tint.  I'm have problems with it sometimes picking up a signal to start, but the arm and disarm have worked fine.   Does anyone think that the tint would effect the antenna at all?  I know that my old astrostart  the tint effected it and they put it right after the end of the tint.  I just have not been able to get it back to dealer that installed it yet so i just want some opinions on it.  Here is a pic

This is the one http://www.viper.com/Products/Product.aspx?ProductID=103

If the tint has some metallic it might have some effect. I would think the mirror itself would have the most detrimental effect.
My antenna is on the drivers side of the window up at the very top and I never have problems.

I changed the battery in both the remotes.  I will see what it does for a couple of days now.
