1995 Avenger 2.0 Auto circle track car
« on: May 04, 2008, 06:08:10 AM »

Ok just bought this car it is still streetable needs some small things. My question is would it be a fairly quick car on a 3/8 dirt track? I have had a Neon Sohc and a Cavalier 2.2 both auto's and wondering how this car would compare. Opening day is tommorrow(today) and I will be driving the Cavalier. How would this car compare to Neon Dohc ? A guy ran an Eclipse Dohc 5 speed at a larger track last year and won almost every time. So do you guys think it is worth building this into a circle track race car is my basic question?

If the Eclipse was the 420a (a lot of them are) they are the same exact engine.  So if you didn't hear a turbo on that Eclipse it's the same deal.

Mod List.  Um WAY too many to fit on here.  But the engine can handle about 800HP

Not sure what was done to the Eclipse, I know the Neon's handle like crap but are fast. How much would the 1995 2.0 auto weigh?

2879 pounds.  Before you do anything with it, bring it to a dealer and have them check the balljoints.  It's a lifetime recall so they should replace them for free if there is an issue.  Also if they fight you on it give a call to corporate.

We had a meet years ago at a circle track and they let us all on the track to race.  It was funny and cool to see all of them on there.  I'm sure we have pics of it somewhere.  Tho this wasn't a dirt track.  Good luck!
