I was just wondering if you guys had any suggestions for replacing my front stock speakers. They are blown and I am looking to run them with my current head unit, no amp.
And on a side note, anyone have any good ideas for stopping the rattling coming from my door handle on the inside. The plastic is cracked and is causing noise.
Hot glue the door, and if you're not looking for anything heavy go to your local car stereo store and look at the lower end, good brand speakers. Infinity Reference was what I used to recommend when I worked at CC. Also polks low line is good. I'm an Alpine guy and their S-types are usable, but more pricey than the other two.

Mod List. Um WAY too many to fit on here. But the engine can handle about 800HP
Type s's are OK but pricey ...For descent (CHEAP) I like the pioneers or audiobahn ....picked up some audiobahn 6.5's for the dailly driver for $40 shipped on ebay
You might look into some MTX coax's, they sound pretty good and have awesome Xmax for coax's. If you can come up with the money, purchase some good seperates. I installed some Alpine Type-X 6.5" in a customers '98 bring and they sounded pretty good. I put the midbass in the door and put the tweeter in the dash location. I wired the midbass 60 degrees off-axis, and the tweeter was dropped to -4.5 dB, due to the reflection off the windshield. I highly reccomend seperates running off a good amp.
