spring grooming
« on: March 25, 2008, 01:56:42 PM »

since the weather is starting to warm up, my poor siberian husky sasha is shedding like you wouldn't believe! she came in and sat down by me at the computer and when we got up, there was more than 3 handfuls of fur that came off her butt from just sitting there. i took her outside and brushed her real good. now that i got off all that winter coat (litterally a complete stuffed to the brim plastic grocery bag full), there's nothing left of her! lol!!! she looks so very thin now! Smiley

anyone else have a major pet grooming for the spring? got some pics of your mutts too? Smiley

here's some pics of my husky:

Pretty dog!  I would love a dog that blew it's coat out all at once.. ours just does it all the time.. must be the lab side and not the irish wolfhound side from what I am told.. sigh.  There is a website somewhere that you can collect all your dogs hair and send it to them.. they wash all the dander and stuff out and then make it into yarn so you can knit sweaters and junk....LOL.

Awesome looking animal you got there, that is one clean dog, good luck with that  Wink We have a 5 year old male German Shepard, and can not say enough good about him. The hair is a price you pay for the love they give. Big dogs FTW!

Jill, try using a brush called the furminator  (http://www.furminator.com/shedless.cfm) if you have not already. And that comment about the sweaters ............. could have gone without that,  Cheesy.

I love our furminator!  I got put on it by our groomer.  My sister in law now has one for her german shep.  Even with the furminator our big pup still sheds like crazy, but not _as_ bad as without it...lol.  I will never get a lab cross again....LOL.  Blowing out the coat all at once would be sooo much better than all the time.  He can be such a good dog so we put up with it and try and brush him every few days with the furminator (he hates being brushed).  I'll have to find a picture of him.. he's so goofy.
