« on: February 19, 2008, 06:05:02 PM » |

Would the factory amp make my afer market speakers crack. I put my new deck in a lil while ago and ive noticed that my speakers will crack under a small load. Ive thought about by passing my amp becuz my deck puts out more power any ideas.
My current setup is Pioneer Head unit. Fosgate 6 1/2s and Pioneer 6x9's. And my tweeters arnt hocked up cuz there blown.

you basicallly have to wire the speakers directly to the deck. the rears are easy, the doors are a bit more difficult. i did this on my sebring but not on the avenger, (been too busy). i would just bypass the ones in the rear and leave the ones in the front.

OR go down to your local Car Stereo shop and spend 15-20 for a bypass harness and it's all MUCH easier.

....ok from what i know..the reason why the ones in the door is hard..is to wire it from the deck to the door. that is the ONLY difficulty. the kit they sell at the store for like $10 is a given and it helps u identify what goes where. that still doesnt leave out the difficulty of getting the wiring from the deck to the door tho....

You wouldn't need to run any wires because they are already run. Where is the factory amp? Rear deck or under the pass. seat? You leave the stereo the way it is. You go to where the amp is, unplug the input harness and the output harness, then you plug both ends of those into the new harness you bought. Done.

It will bypass everything hooked up to the amp. So you won't be RE-Amplifing an amplified signal.

underpowering you're speakers can cause as much damage as overpowering them. this damage will happen when you 're head starts to clip if you're turning it up because its not loud enough you will notice that it will start to distort that is when it is clipping and thats when it will start to damage a under powered speaker my sugestion is get a amp matched to ur speaks then you will not have to turn it up as high and it won't clip

Get a four channel amp with x-overs and put them on a highpass cut the bass out of them and they will handle more power but you need a sub for fill in
