2008 is hell
« on: February 17, 2008, 02:39:36 AM »

I hate plain and simply hate 2008

first they stole my grand caravan all wheel drive
wasn't insured against thief
they found it partially in pieces 2 weeks later
and to insult me even more I was forced to pay a towing bill and give the truck to the pound !

I had to buy a replacement caravan since I need one when I'm working
some of the money I used was supposed to go in my retirement fund so I could get a tax break
rest was borrowed so bye bye tax break and welcome debt

and now HIT AND RUN on the replacement caravan while I was sleeping
front bumper, internal bumper and driver side headlamp completely scrapped
of course I'm not covered by the insurance that goes into the vandalism section

what's next ?

it would probably if it was insured for that since it is a 1998 and parts are expensive
but since I'm not insured for that , I won't see a dime and I don't even have a dime left for a third one
I will have no choice but to hunt scrap yard for parts
my plan was to sell it as soon as I have my tax return
looks now like I will be stuck with it for a long time if i can't find parts with matching color Sad

I hope they find the guys that did this to you, and they have enough money for you to sue and get what you deserve out of it.  Undecided

Well as long as it's driveable then you can always look out our way as well so the panels match.

of course I'm not covered by the insurance that goes into the vandalism section

How the f*cking hell does that fall under vandelism?! HOW!?!?! I guarantee you that if I had hit and run a parked car, there would be an insurance company investigating my car along with an officer. That is so f*cking unfair for them to do that to you! i guarentee that the more hell you raise with each Service Rep and make sure you progress UP the ladder, you will eventually have them change it to an actual coverable claim. YOU pay them to insure YOUR property against situations like this. For them to weasel their way out of not 1 but TWO incidents that were in NO way your fault [and you know damn well they would have been all over it if it was your fault and you called them in] shows what kind of atrocities that insurance company is capable of getting away with.

Around here, the increase in traffic accidents have been accounted for by unlicensed drivers who just happen to be of a certain ethnicity that Canada is now having to suffer the beginnings of an already rampant problem that has plagued the States for the past 15 years. And I mean unlicensed as in: Don't know HOW to drive, and aren't legally allowed a license in this country.

I so hope that the thieves and the hit and run both get Ghonerrea.

you have to understand that Canada and USA don't have the same way of thinking
and even in Canada each province has their own variations specially in quebec
I won't start a long explanation but here we have 3 level of car insurance
first level is the mandatory insurance  controlled by the quebec goverment and is paid by each citizen as a part of your driver license and car registration
it covers everyone
second level is the mandatory  civil resposibility to cover dommage made to others , you need to have that insurance when you register your car, however loosers will cancel them once registered and will drive with no insurance at all
third level is to cover your own property against thief, vandalism, fire etc

to get the third level on a 10 years old car you need to go with an inspection , and the van would have failed I was working on fixing a few things so I could get that inspection done and get full coverage but the looser , probably a drunk driver or a young shithead beat me to it

That's utter BS. Government should not interfere with insurance for drivers licenses, only require a bare minimum.

I think Manitoba Public insurance is better then.. makes me sick to say that and for how much I hate MPI I still think it's better.. Hit and runs are never put under vandelism. That just sounds ridiculous.
