asked a dealership these questions and havent got a response...maybe some knows here:
Am currently working on a "Frankenstein" Mitsubishi engine and was hoping you could help me out. In my dodge avenger I have swapped out the 6g73 SOHC (2.5) for the 6g74 SOHC (3.5); however, i have been tossing around the idea of going DOHC. I know that the 94-96 montero was a DOHC 6g74.
Sooo, the questions:
1. Is the head gasket part# for the 6g74 DOHC (montero 94-96) the same a the 6g74 SOHC (diamante 2001)?
2. Are the heads part# form the 6g72 DOHC (3000gt NA) the same as the 6g74 DOHC (montero 94-96)? I understand that the 6g72TT heads are the same with the exception of larger ports/cams.
3. Are the 6g72 DOHC cam gears different from the 6g74 DOHC cam gears?
4. How much is a 6g75 crank? Should be good for .15...3.65L 6g74:)
