Nonexistent customer service -- RedefinedRides.com
« on: February 11, 2008, 03:23:15 AM »

I found RedefinedRides.com here on ASOG and I did not have a good experience with this vendor.  A general forum search for “redefined” will show that others have had similar experiences with this vendor to the experience that I had.  I had read others’ comments about this guy, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt and I am sorry that I did.

To make a long story short, I ordered an aluminum door handle from this vendor.  It took two months to arrive, but the vendor had originally told me that it would arrive approximately 5 days after payment.  The speed that was promised was the reason that I decided to buy from him in the first place.  I was not able to open my driver’s door, so every day without receiving the part was frustrating because I had to go through the passenger side of my car.

While I waited for my part, the vendor did not answer numerous phone calls, e-mails nor a text message, except for one e-mail that he sent two weeks after receiving payment when he promised to mail the part within one business day.  After a month without receiving the part, I filed a PayPal complaint, which was decided in my favor -- but I didn’t get my money back because the vendor didn’t have any money in his account.  After more unanswered calls and nearly two months after payment was made, the final straw came when the vendor’s voicemail message said that he was not receiving messages at this time so I called both his local police and my local police to pursue charges of theft and internet fraud.  Miraculously, the part arrived via priority mail one day after the police contacted him.

To be completely fair, I was happy with the quality of the part that I eventually received.  Also, it may be possible that other forum members have had good experiences with this vendor.  However, I was not able to find anyone that said that this vendor had good customer service, or that he mailed his parts out quickly.
