jack up the drivers side but make sure the fornt pass tire stays on the ground grab a hold of the tire at the 3 0clock and 9 oclock shake the tire back in for if the tire moves it is a tie rod you will have to look at where the outter tie rod attaches to the spindel to see if the loosesness is comiming from there if while you shake it if the the spindle moves with the outter tie rod lickly it is the inner tie rod. then grab ahold of the tire at 12 and 6 and shake if it wiggles there it is the ball joints again you will have to look while you are shaking the tire to find out if it is the upper or lower ball joint. I f you cant find any thing loose inspect the spring seats and upper strut mount bushings to see if the are wore or cracked Pugsley
The ball joint recall is LIFETIME ... No one year warranty or anything ... Call the number and explain that you paid $XXX.XX out of your pocket for a covered recall you might have to bitch and complain some but others just send you the forms you send them back you get CASH , od course I get 10% for telling you
mine doesnt squeak, but apparently my tie rod ends and wheel bearings are bad, they were done in 01, but the dealership wants money for diagnosis..which im told that if it is the ball joints, then i dont pay, but if its not, then i pay..what kinda bullshit is that? i wouldnt be worried if the damn thing wasnt recalled!
I personally think it is my ball joints cause last summer one of the people who work on my car said my ball joints were worn... So there is the possbility that the S*** finally hit the fan, but i just dont know that for sure
