Those will bolt up but those transmissions are much bigger and need custom mounts and ?axels?... Not too mention you have to go through a hell of a lot of wiring...

axles

and yes, you are right about the custom work. But i think there is another problem. i'll probably have to find the thread that dealt with that possibility on ASEC if Alain doesn't have it on speed dial.

the eclipse tranny basically doesn't fit in the available space
the one who tried it had to cut into the avenger sub frame and rebuilt and entire section
the axles are not good either because we have special axles already made with a chrysler system of splines on the tranny end and mitsubishi splines on the hubs end and the eclipse axles are too long
and you also have to do mounts

no matter what transmission you put in.  you still need the engine to run.  that is what the hold up is.

the transmission of the daytona IS the A543 we are talking and it will bolt to the 2.5 and 3.0L engine
eclipse motors are using a crank sensor not compatible with a chrysler ECU

y cant we use ecm and wiring harness out of 3rd gen eclipse and the cluster out of the 2nd gen they look like they would be a direct bolt in, the only problem i see is that the cluster might be off with the ecm. Doing the wiring swap isnt hard did it in my 89 formula to an lt1 in

going from the same car to the same car is totally different when you working with 2 totally different vehicles and computer systems

go ahead and do it if you want...i really don't care.
