Forgive the ignorance but is the crank trigger different for the auto and the manual or is the trigger only for the manual? or do both have one and it's the same and has anyone seen my stapler?
lets refrain the questions
or do both have one
pretty much all engines running fuel injection have some kind of crank sensor
is the crank trigger different for the auto and the manual
yes and NO
yes they different because the manual trannies are on 420a engines
the 420a engines crank sensor is reading some notches taken from the crank shaft counterweight itself
the 420a auto read the same as the 420a manual straight from the engine
BUT
the 6g73 read some holes on the flexplate right into the a604 auto tranny
hence the problem of swapping mtx , remove the a604 you also remove the crank sensor
that trigger wheel is made to produce the same kind of pulses, or like we say in electronic a Wave Pattern, to feed the stock ECM
once the ECM see thoses pulses it will never figure out if they are comming from inside the a604 or a trigger wheel , it will just run the engine properly
