heated mirrors?
« on: January 18, 2008, 01:23:42 AM »

i was just wondering if these cars had heated mirrors?

to set the stage, cold as hell 6:40 in the morning, sun hasnt even though about rising yet.

i started my car, turned on the heat, set it to defrost and turned on the rear defrost

the frost was all-over the car, and i had noticed specificly that there was ice on the mirrow when i started got out and started scraping windows, i then got around to my mirrors and there was no frost on them, only water droplets on them.....i was needless to say, purplexed.

as i said it was dark, so it wasnt the sun, there was no way it was just the defrost blowing on the window cause the car want near warmed up yet. and the timing was that of heating elements(like that in the rear window)

so i ask again, do we have heated mirrors? i couldn't find anything about it online, and i don't think its in the owner's manual, though i may have missed it.

Mine does too, i saw it on the window sticker that came with the car when it was new. Like badvenge said, its tied into the rear defrost button. If your not sure about the mirrors, turn on ur rear defrost, wait a few minutes and stick ur hand to them, they'll be warm if thier heated.
