Trying to complete my system setup{- amp.. for now any way...}
« on: January 20, 2008, 05:08:04 AM »

well, here is the thing guys.
I few months ago, i started shopping for some better aftermarket speakers, both the 6.5 for the doors, and the 6x9's for the rear... Ive did a long, and i mean a long long search and research before i bought the first speakers, which were the door speakers{6.5's}, and i went with Audiobahn's componenet speakers. they costed me 40 dollars{i was trying to keep everything on a budget becuase I also had and still have to pay the 6x9s}. but to my very positive surprise, these speakers sound pretty damn good for the price. only problem ive had with them was trying to figure out a damn spot for those crossovers and where to mount them... i ended up drilling mutilple holes thinking that I will have to run the wires from the door into the under-dash area where i will mount the crossovers, but then, i decided to mount them inside, but still wasnt sure where i will mount them inside the door panel.  after a month or two, and after all the things that were going on, i just recentley finished moutning those crossovers inside the door panels, and everything is good now.
Now, its time for me to buy the 6x9 speakers, and here too, I also did a research on which ones i should get.
Again, I am trying to keep everything on the budget, and i also hear that you dont have to have fancy speakers in the rear, because those are not as important as the door speakers.
so here is the thing guys, Ive looked on ebay, and I found a few ones that caught my eye and I wanna buy one of them.
I need you to advice me on which company is the best one to go on my budget  I know there are alot of audio experts in here and i believe i will be able to buy a good speaker with your help.
so here are the companies that I am looking to buy from.
1- Legacy - I personally dont know about this company, but its because I am not really that familiar with the companies.
2- Pyramid - same with this one, but I liked this one the most becase it has very good specifics from what i see.
3 - Clairon - I hear the company is well known for its good products.

okay, I found out that Legacy and Pyramid and its main ware house is located in brooklyn, new york, which is where i live these days, and to be honest, i never buy anything that is made in brooklyn, new york.. not electronics any way, and food as well. I dont know, I guess its like when you go to the super market, and you always skip buying the "store made" cola, exampe: "shoprite cola"
i dont know how to explain it, but i guess you gotta live here to understand what i am saying, so to make it shorter, i crossed those 2 first options out{Legacy and Pyramid}.
instead, I wanted to know what you guys think about  VOLFENHAG.  I found a pair of these speakers with these specs :
1 PAIR VOLFENHAG 6X9 SPEAKERS 800 WATTS 4-WAY
LIFE TIME WARRANTY
VOLFENHAG 6X9 SPEAKERS
800 WATTS MAX POWER
4-WAY SPEAKER SOUND
94 DB SENTITIVITY
2.5" POLYMIDE MIDRANGE
1.5" NEODYMIUM TWEETER
5/8" PIEZO TWEETER
BUTYL RUBBER SURROUND
RED POLYPROPYLENE COATED PAPER CONE
GREAT 4-WAY SOUND

and its 34 dollars shipped.
what do you guys think?

Never mind Volfengag or whatever the name is.
I am reading that only their amps and subs are good, everything rest is crap.
i will be looking more to see what i can find.

hey, let me ask you a question guys, I was thinking and coming along across of subs when i was looking for 6x9's, and maybe i should buy subs instead of 6x9's? I mean, i am not sure exactly what is the difference between a sub and a 6x9 speaker, so maybe some one can help me clarify it?
what i want to know is that if i buy 2 subs instead of 2 6x9's, how do i go about wiring them up? do i just wire them up like i wire regular 6x9's speakers? or i need an amp and some other stuff?

Depends how much your looking to spend. I was quite impressed with my Memphis PR series speakers up front and plan to replace the rear 6x9's with them as well. The set is about 100$ or so, and can be had cheaper online. Great sound for the money

Id go with some pioneers. Ive never had a problem with them and they always sound good for the price. If you go with some subs youll need a box all the wiring and etc which in turn adds up to a decent amount of money. So it basically depeneds on your budget.
