Need them bad up here.. I looked at factory 215/50/r17 and... $$$! no thanx!!
I was thinking about smaller stealies. If i put 15s or 16s on what profile do I need and how much would it effect my handling?
also looking at 225/50/R16 (steelies + rubber) with the right bolt pattern for a real good price second hand..... that's just a little less then an inch smaller then factory size. would there be any problems with going with these wheels?

dude handling?!? Its winter, I think that would be the least of your worries if you need tires that bad.... hahha
By the way, I got Hakkapeliitta studded tires off ebay for 300 bucks (205/60r16) there are wicked deals on there. Oh and they make blizzacks seem like drag tires in the snow they are wicked tires.

16" should fit fine.... If they are 2nd hand maybe you can get them to let you try them on and see what you think if you know the person? We have 16" I'm pretty sure for Dave's 01 Sebring and they came off a 96 Avenger.
Well im running 16's with no problems. As for 225, they are too big for the rears, they rub unless you get a different offset then stock rims. 215 60 and under work, but mine rubbed at full lock. 205/55 is factory size i think.

umm handling as in when I'm on the dry pavement sometimes.. and not body rolling too much on a huge sidewall when I run into some snow.. I dont think it would be that much of a difference though...
but!!!.. anyways..
Gotta killer deal on some factory sizes!!! Just picked them up today... 215/50/R17 ... Michelin X-Ice. 350$ !!!!! like brand new! maybe just over 1000km on them...
I'll get some pics.

I see you already got them, but if your worried, go for some steal rims and maybe like a 195 or 205. Remember, skinnier is better for winter. Thats why some guys who plow have tire/rim sets specifically for plowing. My RS-A's suck in the snow and sleet lol
Thats a pretty good deal. I got some Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3's on 15" steelies from Tire Rack for about $450-$500 plus got a $50 rebate. Its amazing how much better they are over all seasons.
Since we're on the topic -- i traded in my venge this Jan and put up my winter tires, lugs, hubs, steelies for sale. Check sale forum (yes I'm x-posting!)
