cracking side skirts
« on: January 03, 2008, 01:07:07 AM »

Ok I have a 2000 dodge avenger and put a body kit on it. I molded the side skirts and it looks great but after about 3 months I see little cracks starting where its molded to the body. How can I keep this from happening again?

If you are in cold weather areas it will crack .. Metal and fiberglass have different thermalĀ  expansion rates ...Thats why I NEVER recomend molding in kits ...

Since it's already done the best way is to strip it all off then use Fusor to secure the entire skirt ,gently wipe of excess to smoth it nicely then use the smallest amount of kitty hair to make it look smooth , also pop riviting the skirt along the top and recessing the rivits canhelp prevent movement as well as reinforcing the bottom
