Vibrating Noise (Very Strange)
« on: January 09, 2006, 07:19:06 AM »

Hey All, Here is my problem im having.
I have a vibrating/loud noise coming from what seems to be the right from wheel.  Here are all the symptoms that might help you determine what is causing it.
1. There must be weight on the tire for it to make the noise, when it is jacked up, there is no noise
2. The noise gets louder as you speed up, becoming quite noticeable at 20 M.P.H
3. The Noise goes away when you turn the wheel to the right
4. The Noise is not dependent on the transmission or the r.p.m's, I could be rolling down a hill with the car in off and in neutral and still have the noise
5. The Right front wheel is very snug and does not wiggle as though the wheel bearing/hub assembly are bad

The Noise is loud enough that it is very hard to hear when talking on my cell phone in my car

Please help me out so I know what part I am looking at replacing as well as possible costs

Thanks so much

sounds like the universal joint on the end of the axle..

new axle is probably in order.

I love when you search and you find what you are looking for... like i did even tho its a new topic.. Smiley

But my question is I just got tires put on my car.. Could they have did something to effect my car to make this problem happen..or is it because it has over 100k miles

Sounds a lot like what's wrong with mine. I have a loud noise from the right front, but it's even louder now that the stock tires are back on for winter  Huh

How was the noise/vibration before the new tires? Before 100K?
