problem with cd player aux function
« on: January 09, 2006, 12:57:37 AM »

I apologize ahead for the double-post to those who visit ASEC's site as i posted this same problem over there. but here it is: Got a problem with my Pioneer DEH P2500 deck. I ordered the Pioneer RB-20 ip-bus unit so that i could hook up my i-Pod via RCAs. Well i got everything hooked up with the p-bus and then plugged in the minijack to the iPod's headphone jack, turned the stereo on. well i pushed every button on that unit (including the function button which should switch back and forth from cd-radio-aux) and nothing doing. the p-bus was not being read at all from the stereo. even had the iPod playing, cranked up and everything. the deck would only switch from radio-cd. My owner's manual for my deck specifically said it was compatible with the RB-20 so i don't understand why it will not switch over to AUX. btw, i had my co-workers working on it--roadshop installers at Circuit City--so i know they know what they're doing as far as installing. the problem seems to lie either with my deck or the ip-bus. can anybody offer any advice?

i know with my pioneer deck that i had.....i believe i might have had that exact one....i have since upgraded but with mine i had to turn the unit off and hold down whatever button it is to set the clock....i think it may be the function key and there you would get a menu as to setting the clock and one of the options would be to TURN ON the AUX input so you could select it as a source.....(along with those options you can also turn off those annoying warning beeps that sound when you turn the ignition off Wink) as with my new deck ( a pioneer DEH-6800MP) i still have to turn on my AUX inputs before i can select them as a source.......i hope that helps
