I'm in class so I can't get out and look but can the stock Ypipe (I think alot of people call it the 'downpipe') be put on backwards to face forward?

That question doesn't really make sense to me... I know what a Y pipe is and I know what a downpipe is but they arent the same thing.... Im pretty sure a Y pipe goes in place of the cat and is connected to the downpipe and thats what people use to make dual exhaust... and the downpipe connects your headers to your cat... My answer to your question would be no but you might be trying to describe something else that maybe Im not getting... could someone else ellaborate a little bit? What are you trying to do?

I've always referred to the y-pipe = pipes that connect headers/manifolds to rest of exhaust (where the cat should lol be)

I'm thinking if the Ypipe could simply be removed, slightly modified if need, placed on "backwards" so that it faces forward and then bingo I'd have a forward facing exhaust to feed a turbo

yea that is true.

I was thinking that if that stock pipe would go on "backwards" I have a ton of exhaust tubing to use, my hot pipes would be covered, just need a few flanges

once i get out of class i'm gonna take a closer look

these cars react badly when you delete the cats if it's not done right. Talk to Sroufe7 about the downpipe. he makes them specifically for the 6g73's.

If it somehow can be miraculously faced forward.. it would stick right out the front of the bumper unless its cut.. it's long.

anyone ever think about ...a.... ...hmm... ...erherm.. ........RMT...  Wink .... for our cars .. I've seen it done on alot of other cars. (Sorry.. not to change the topic or anything)

I don't like rmt

why?
even more lag
lots of piping
more weight
and too low to the ground for my comfort

once my trans am sells the venge is getting alot of new toys for it, i think i can piece up a turbo system for ~500 with patience (bare essentials, no supporting/tuning etc)

no...the main converter is after the downpipe.  the pre-cats are...one in the downpipe and one in the rear exhaust manifold.
