A while back my PS steering pump was making noise and I was about ready to change it. As I recall, the job didnt seem too difficult. ON my 3.0, you can access it through the fender well. Shop cost on the pump was 100-150 as I recall. Turns out that the fluid was just a bit overfull, and was probably exerting some negative pressure on the pump because there was no air to compress or whatever. Removed some and brought the fluid level back into range and it has quieted down. Go figure
The pump on top to the left or the head with the plastic cover over the belt is making the noise... that's the power steering pump isn't it?.. I can get to it right from the top, no need to go in through the wheel well.

Sorry, I dont know, I have not done much work to 2.5's. I strongly suggest getting a chiltons or Haynes manual for your car. They arnt as good as the Mitchell program I have at work but for most general repair they are great. I keep one for every car at home.
i jus replaced mine last week it is easy... jus loosen ur tentioner and there are 4 bolts to take it loose it took me bout 2 1/2 to 3 hours to replace it it wasnt hard the bolts were 12mm and you will want both a wrench and ratchet.....
