Annoying Beeping????
« on: November 11, 2007, 05:51:10 AM »

does anyone else have the annoying "beeping" when they open there drivers door??

And no, the lights arn't on, and the key isn't in it.
On and it doesn't happen all the time... same as the light coming on but I think I got that figured.

OH, and the door locks.  What in the world is with them??!?!?!
They lock, then unlock on their own, lock the drivers door without the switch locks the passenger, but unlocks itself.  Then they will get stuck unlocked and you cant make them lock, I dont know if I just have a bizarre car, or if there is something I should know???

Thanks guys

If the key is in the ignition, the door won't lock as a safety thing.

As for the beeping lay off the Whiskey......  Wink

The sensor in the door is causing the trouble ... also the door switches could be bad ...

Hey! I said the keys were OUT of the ignition!  You should lay off the whiskey I think....Tongue

Ok, the switch it could be I noticed it was sticky, the interior lights wont always come on, but if I hit the switch they come on.

switches are $6/$10 depending on auto parts store or dealer ...
but the other sensor in the door can cause similar troubles with the factory alarm ...

Ok switch at the bottom of the door isnt the issue, it seems to work, although with the door open the beeping stays on till the door is shut regardless...

However the car seems to act/think the key is still in the ignition.  It will lock the doors when the green security light is on, but will force one door to stay unlocked when it isn't.  Does this sound like the security issue?

This only applies to power locks and assuming that your lock actuators are working properly. These actuators are well known to crap out and not do what they were meant to do.

Not to jack this thread, but my 97 ES has a problem where if i unlock it on the drivers side with the key, it sets off the alarm. The passenger side works fine.

the keyless arms/disarms the alarm unlocking on the key there is a sensor on the door that will arm/disarm also likely the sensor is bad or misadjusted ...
