Well, here we go again. Melissa's 96 V6 won't start. We took it to dinner on New Years Eve and everything was fine, then on the 3rd it wouldn't budge. It's being a bad bad car. The fuel pump isn't priming when you turn the key on, the starter isn't trying to turn the motor over when you try to start the car. Here's the tricky part, when the key is in the run position here's what DOESN'T work...
-the radio isn't powering up -the windows won't go up or down -the left/right turn signals don't work -the rear defrost won't click on -the HVAC fans don't run -none of the indicator lights in the gauge cluster (on the left side) aren't running through their test cycle, i.e. the check engine light, the SRS light, and so on (which means I can't do the key dance and watch for the codes)
What DOES work... -the interior lights, gauge cluster lights (the actually bulbs that illuminate the gauges), brake lights, headlights and so on and so forth work -the door chime works -the door ajar and the security light in the gauge cluster works -the hazard button and blinkers work
I've checked and rechecked all the fuses under the dash and under the hood, none are blown. The car has a brand new battery in it that I bought this evening. The 3 relays aren't clicking or anything, I listened and felt them while Melissa turned the key on and off a couple times. With this bit of information can any of you make an educated guess as to what I should try next? I'm assuming "replace the relays" will come up first and foremost but why isn't anything working when I turn the key to ON?
Thanks all.

Sounds like the accessory wire. All the things that aren't working are things that need the accessory wire to have power. The things you're listing that work are things that don't need the accessory. It's possible that your ignition is bad. When you turn the key it's not making a connection to the accessory. If you lived close enough to me, I'd be glad to drive over and check it out. If you have a multi-meter you can test the wires coming out of the ignition for voltage.

Mod List. Um WAY too many to fit on here. But the engine can handle about 800HP

Thanks man, that makes a lot of sense. I'll give it a shot this weekend and report back.

Sounds good, if you need any of the other wire colors or places to find them let me know. I might even be able to get pics for you if you really need them!

Here's the latest... I finally got around to tearing the steering column apart and testing the wires coming in and out of the ignition. The white 'hot' wire is delivering power to the unit but when the key is turned on neither the blue wire with the black stripe or the black wire with the red stripe have power. So this leads me to believe I have a bad ignition. If everyone agrees I guess I know what I need to replace.

I agree with that. A good way to test it, is to CAREFULLY touch all the wires together (except the starter) and then just hold the starter wire on them until the car starts. If the car starts, your ignition is junk.

When you say all the wires which "all" exactly do you mean? I tried touching the white wire and the blue with the black stripe together and got nothing.

Constant 12V+ White Starter Black/Red Ignition Black/White Ignition 2 Blue Accessory Blue/Black
This is the wiring that you will need to use. You need to put Constant (White) with the Ignitions (Black/White and Blue) and the Accessory (Blue/Black) Then use the Starter wire (Black/Red) as you would with a key, hold it against the rest until the car starts, then take it off. In order to turn the car back off, disconnect the wires. Make sure NONE OF THE WIRES TOUCH ANYTHING ELSE. You don't want them grounding out or sending a signal through something they shouldn't. What you will be doing is essentially hot wiring the car. Any electronics place could put in a Push Button Start on your car. It'll be cheaper than getting a new ignition put in (probably) If you're doing it yourself it's still something you might want to consider. If you're interested in that let me know, I can walk you through that. Good Luck!!

I tried hot wiring the car but nothing happened. I bought an ECU from a buddy and tried it and nothing happened so I'm back to square one. I took the relays out of my car and put them in hers and visa versa and my car started with her relays and her car did nothing with my relays in it so I ruled them out. So, right now I'm going back outside to work on it to make sure I didn't mess anything up when I tried hot wiring the car. If anyone has any suggestions I'd really appreciate it, I'm just at a loss right now and I'm starting to get really frustrated.

You said there is power to the white wire though right?? I'd call up someone that has experience wiring remote starters and have them come out and take a look at the wiring set up. If you have power on the constant and you touch that to the other wires, you should then test the wire you touched, and see if you have power to that. Go through all the wires like that and find which is being a whore, and then replace that relay.
