filthy windshield

ok i didn't properly clean my windshield before applying rain-block treatment and now my windshield is smudgy and very hard to see through at night. i've tried washing it, using auto glass cleaner etc. and nothing is working to get rid of the streaks. any suggestions? (btw, i used the treatment about 3 months ago and the car has been through its share of rainstorms as well.)

Dawn dishsoap? Wax remover? Dunno. Have you tried to call the company and ask them?

I had the same problem on one of my older cars. Dishsoap cleaned it right off ( I had used Rainx).

Solvent ...3M adhesive remover ...Scrub it with that and a white scotchbrite bad will remove any dirt and treatment ...Then retreat ....NOTE do NOT use green or red scotchbrite (that will scracth the glass)

Ok thanks for the tips guys. I'll try the dishsoap first and if that doesn't work I'll use adhesive remover.

eagle one 20/20 and #0000 super fine steel wool will get anything thats on your windsheild off. make sure you get the superfine, that way you don't scratch your glass

i use a spray bottle with the following mixture:

1 part white vinegar
1 part rubbing alcohol
2 parts water
5 drops of dawn dish detergent

that cuts through all kinds of stuff on glass. i used it to clean my iguanna's aquarium since it was safe to use around animals and cut through the nastiest of nasty.
